MIAMI VALLEY DIST'G OPENS DISPLAY
ROOM AT DAYTON QUARTERS WILL DISPLAY AND TRAIN
Some 375 Dealers Attend "Open House"
Meeting -- Firm Distributes Products of the Crosley
Division, Avco Mfg. Corp.
DAYTON, O., Friday --
The Miami Valley Distributing Co., this city,
distributor of products manufactured by the Crosley
Division, Avco Manufacturing Corp., has announced the
opening of "the room of knowledge," a new display and
sales training room believed to be unique in distributor
operations.
The opening of the new room, located in the Miami
Valley Distributing Co.'s spacious quarters here, was
celebrated by a two-day open house, attended by 375
dealers and their sales forces. A feature of open house
activities was the display of the current television
receivers, as well as other Crosley products.
The room, according to Edward F. Smith, vice
president and general manager, was "built with the
thought in mind that our business for the future is the
dealer and his problem of sales training.
"We are going to run a series of schools on the
products for the dealers, teaching them and their sales
forces how to properly present a product and its merits.
We also plan to hire salesmen ourselves, whom will train
here, and after they know our products we will place
them with dealers who are interested in extending their
sales forces.
"Another purpose of the room, which has made a hit
with dealers," Mr. Smith said, "is that of making the
room available for meetings in which they have a special
interest.
"If they have a cooking school, a meeting of a church
group or P.T.A., they may use the room and we will
assist them in making the arrangements." The room also
will be made available to various associations in Dayton
such as the Radio Repairmen's Association, the
Refrigeration Repairmen's Association, or the Gas and
Electric League.
The room is so arranged that it can hold a large
meeting seating as many as 250. |
